Mike Thomas has created, in partnership with Pace Telecoms in the UK, a timeline history of communication in the modern era.
It’s fascinating to read and delve into our history, and there’s a gem or two to be found within its walls. For example, I didn’t know the fax machine was patented by Alexander Bain just shortly after Samuel Morse invented the first long distance electric telegraph line in 1843.
I hope Pace Telecoms can be persuaded of the value of this timeline, and that they fund Mike to add in communication from our very first cave paintings. What an additional treasure trove that would be.
